Dr. Rachel Lum

Rachel graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998. After graduation, she spent over 10 years working in the public sector.  While serving her bond with the Ministry of Health, she gained experience in both general dentistry in the polyclinics, as well as tertiary care with the National Dental Centre, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Changi General Hospital where she managed patients with more complex needs.  She later joined the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics where she assumed leadership and management positions. In addition to clinical care of patients, she was responsible for the operations of clinics as well as mentoring of junior dental surgeons.

In the last 5 years, Rachel has been in private practice where she practises a wide range of general dentistry and enjoys treating both adults and children.  Her philosophy of practice is in line with that of Tay Dental Surgery, i.e. she also strongly believes that prevention is better than cure, and is committed to ensuring that her patients are empowered to take good care of their oral health.

When she is not working in the clinic, Rachel is actively engaged in parenting her four children.  Apart from baking and cooking, she also enjoys working with her hands and finds great satisfaction in crocheting and other craftwork.
